   >For me, Loving myself is #1. How can I truly love anyone else if I am not looking out for myself? In my mind- giving, making sacrifices, compromises, etc., is very important; but ultimately I have to express what I need and want in order to stay happy and in love. If you’re always giving and not getting enough back, you’ll get resentful! And if you don’t really love yourself, then you will be more likely to control your partner out of insecurity!

   I think another basic of love is expression. It is not enough to have love in your heart. Expressing it is what makes it real to the outside world. That obviously is done through actions in many cases, such as a parent taking care of a child, but actions can be misinterpreted or not understood easily. Saying that you love someone, saying their importance to you, their value, that then allows your actions to be seen as love. IMHO

   One of my basics for love is generosity. When you love you´re not selfish, you just want your loved one to be happy, no matter what, and it´s so beautiful when it goes both ways!!
