“The finger of God never leaves identical fingerprints.” – Stanislaus Lec
It’s another way of saying that God isn’t one thing, isn’t one being. God isn’t a
being at all, in the sense we know ‘being’. God is what happens. What do you think?

>agreed. my ‘never’ comes from observation, not some law that i believe in.
also, my idea of god is very fluid, because i think that god is fluid. so, whether it’s really some god-being, or if it’s neurons, or if it’s fate or deja vu or whatever word you choose to use to describe it, i still say that -that- is god. if there’s no higher power, and what we feel is merely this commonness of man– the universality of the human condition– then THAT is god. and that’s the ‘higher power’.
yeah it’s hard to get the mind around. but that’s why i think it might be right. ha ha
anyway, bottom line, god is fluid. energy, being, feeling, whatever. -that- is god.
>I like it except for the ‘never’ part of it all. How do you know we will ‘never’ grasp, never be honest, never be satisfied? Maybe it will happen, why rule it out? Likely it won’t, I agree. But no reason to make a statement like that as if it is fact when in truth we don’t know if it is fact, especially for our own lives since our lives are not over.
But in the meanwhile, in the real world, love, satisfaction, truth and energy really do come from something we don’t fully understand. That might be God, that might be neurons firing in our brain, but either way they are things to aspire to. Thoughts.
>i like to describe god as 100%. that helps my little mind get around it.
god is 100% truth. he is the honest that we always try to be but never can.
god is 100% satisfaction. what we chase our whole lives and can never really grasp.
god is 100% love. no matter how hard we try (and we do), we can’t overcome our selfishness. the battle always rages on.
and i think that the biblical story/metaphor/event of god making man “in his image” totally fits with this. we’re little gods, and our job is to climb. to keep climbing and keep getting bigger gods, getting closer and closer to 100%, even though we all “realize” that we will never truly attain.
god is energy. god is 100%. god is an infinitely huge mathematical formula. god is truth. god is that buzz you hear when it’s getting near last call and you’re pretty damn near passed out.
….thoughts?
