One day these two women judged each other mercilessly. The next day they both went to the doctor and found out they had cancer. They both died within a year. The end.

Sometimes it’s the things that make us uncomfortable are the things we need to explore.
I used to think I was much harder on myself than anyone until I ran into a lady a few months ago who commented on how tight my skirt was on my butt. I explained to her that it was a Tennis skirt and that’s I’d just come from working out, but that didn’t stop her. She continued to comment on my clothing as if she was my BFF and I’d asked her if the skirt made my butt look big, but she was a complete stranger.
I remember still being courteous to her and then getting upset with myself for not telling her to go kick rocks with her bare feet. While I do have positive relationships with women, far more good than bad.
There is much more “You’re doing it wrong as a woman” going on these days when we all know that experiences and circumstances are different, age often changes perspective (and behavior), and no one is perfect. Folks used to tell us, “if you don’t have anything nice to say, keep it to yourself.”
Now it seems that if we have anything to say, we’re posting it online.
If this makes you uncomfortable,which honestly I was thinking.. “OK Marty enough with what’s wrong with women series.” Share this with your girl friends, your daughters, and start having the internal discussion. I think we’ll come out of this better human beings.
Thanks Cheryl, I understand how the focus over a series of 5 could be a bit much, but it is something I have seen most every day for years and years now. I will have to add a coda of positive reinforcement among women next week!
